Cycling And Walking People On N27

Cycling itinerary suggestion for September 20, 2020

In the scope of European Mobility Week, some roads are going to be closed to motorised traffic on Sunday (Sep. 20, 2020).

We made a cycling itinerary taking advantage of some roads closed to motorised traffic through the beautiful Alzette, Attert, Wark and Sauer valleys and climb up to Bourscheid, visit the castle. Or stop at the second hand bicycle market in Bissen.

Distance: 63 km

Elevation gain: ~800 m

Difficulty: good fitness level required (the easy parts compensate the hard 4 km ascend)

Starting point: Ettelbruck, Schieren, or Colmar-Berg train station, or cycle there.

Itinerary (circular loop): PC 15 to Colmar-Berg, PC 12 to Bissen and Boevange/Attert, Dällchen West Tour cycling route to Vichten (visit the centre), signposted cycling route to Michelbouch and Mertzig. Closed road section to Niederfeulen, to reach the PC 16 towards Welscheid and Bourscheid (beautiful scenery and a few km of climbing), roll down to the Sauerdall and continue to Michelau (shared with motorised traffic) to reach the section closed to motorised traffic) along N27 to Erpeldange-sur-Sûre, and get to the PC 16 cycleway to Ettelbruck and PC 15 back to Colmar-Berg.
